The Rotary Club of Canton, Michigan, was chartered May 16, 1977. The Club met for its first thirty years at the Roman Forum Restaurant on Ford Road in Canton. Over the many years of its existence, the Club has hosted dignitaries Barbara Bush, Candice Miller, and many Canton officials. We are proud to have started the Canton Public Library, contributed a bus to the community for senior citizens, and built a Clock Plaza at Heritage Park.

We support many ongoing projects including the contribution of school supplies and back packs to the Salvation Army at the start of each year for distribution to underprivileged students in the community, assembly of Christmas baskets for senior citizens, a vocational scholarship to a local high school student, donations to Shelter Box which supplies shelter and living necessities to disaster victims, ringing the bell for Salvation Army at Christmas time, and a collaborative project with other area Rotary Clubs to build a new school in Guo, Ghana.
Rotary International is the oldest service organization in existence. Our motto is "Service Above Self", and our goals are to be of service on the International, Local, and Club levels. Rotary has spent many years working on the eradication of polio worldwide. Currently, while finishing this objective, Rotary is working on clean water throughout the world.
